Those of you who read this blog regularly, know that I love the city of Zurich where I had lived and worked for ten years before I emigrated to Canada.
When I stay in Zurich during one of my visits from Canada, I tend to walk in a dream-like state through the narrow cobbled streets, over the bridges and along the shores of Lake Zurich.I meet old friends and acquaintances with whom I have kept in touch all these years.
I can see changes in this great city, but positive ones: old industrial areas that have been transformed into exciting urban spaces, cutting-edge architecture, new public meeting places, huge squares in downtown Zurich, and room that has been created for natural vegetation to spread.
Zurich is a pulsating city, but you still find quiet corners all over the place. It is a stimulating metropolis, with some areas though that give you a village-like impression.
Not the banks dominate life in Zurich anymore, it is the people who live here!
